 Now I realize that light purple is not exactly what you think of when it comes to traditional winter colors and while the blacks, reds, and greys are fine for awhile, I find about mid January I am ready for a change. This year I think something light purple could be just the ticket. Ann Taylor has a great selection of purple sweaters - cashmere & merino. Banana Republic has an awesome purple button up and J.Crew has a lovely purple tee. Just to name a few.
And the beautiful thing about purple is that you can pair it with your grey pants or your black skirt and it looks fabulous - day or night. For day it looks bright and cheery, not as serious at black. For night it can be eye catching and unexpected. Either way you will get tons of mileage out of it. In fact, I bought the purple shirt from BR, paired it with a grey tweed skirt and some slingbacks, and it looked awesome. Perfect for my daytime event. |
