 According to USA Today, the goal is to change America's view of JC Penney and they've launched a huge ad campaign to do just that. "We've changed." Says V.P. of Marketing Michael Cape, "We're current. We're relevant." Just don't use the "u" word, as in "upscale." They're not moving upscale. In fact, they're proud to serve women with "too little time, too little money and two little kids." Brilliant move JCPenney. But what the heck took you so long?
Oh well, they're on the right track now and they've opened up a huge "pop-up" store in Manhattan to generate all kinds of buzz about their new, exclusive designer apparel, private labels, and updated home furnishings. All at oh so affordable prices of course. So if you live in NYC and you are a fan of JCPenney or even if you're not, you might want to check it out. You might be pleasantly surprised.
