 I'm sorry, but a girl just has to have a pair of fun shoes in her closet at all times. You know, a pair that instantly turns a so-so outfit into a wow one. You can go with a print, or something jeweled, or a bold color. For me, it's all about red for summer. Great with all the black & white out there, navy and denim too.
So if red is on your list as well, here's a few worth checking out.
For a bit of a splurge - Nordstrom has a great pair from Jessica Simpson Footwear for $79. Very cute and I love the patent leather. Nine West has a polka-dot pair for $75. Very fun. For a more practical price - check out the great peep toe espadrille wedges at Ann Taylor Loft for $59. They're really cute on and super comfy too. Steve Madden has a pair too. A strappy wedge pair in red patent leather and they're on sale now for $49.99. And for cheap - Target has some great ones. The Mossimo Paprika Platform Sling Back in red patent for just $22.99. | I clicked on your link to ATL and it only shows that wedge in dark brown. Does it come in red in the stores and not on the website? Thanks for the great tip Stephanie! I really never would have considered a red shoe until I read your "news and views". |

| I love the red AT Loft shoes too. I saw them in red in a magazine and thought they were adorable. At first the AT Loft website had a picture of the red, but only the brown were available for purchase. Now the red picture doesn't even show up. So....I'll have to do a little investigating into the whole red thing and get back to you. |

| You can call the ATL toll-free number and pre-order the red shoe. I was told that it would be available in mid-June. The sales rep informed me that the red would likely sell out very quickly and that only a few stores in the Chicago area have the shoe in red at this time. |

| Just wanted you guys to know that the red is now available online at AT Loft. Not sure about in stores yet, but if you're interested you might want to just order online. | So, I tried on the AT Loft shoe and it was too big in the back and my foot kept slipping out. The rep said that others have had the same problem. I am so glad that I did not order the shoe online. Too bad, because it's very cute. I needed a dark brown sandal and picked up a new brown sling back wedge that they just put on the sales floor. |

| I didn't need the dark brown right now, though I am going to keep an eye them. I thing they would be great for fall and I am still waiting to see the red in person. For some reason I think the red might not be as "red" as I want. More like a brownish red than a blue red. So....to make a long story short. I haven't purchased either. Though I am leaning toward the brown. BTW, I saw the new dark brown slingbacks you purchased. Very cute. |

| Ok....NOW I see what you mean about the heel slipping in the shoes. I finally went to buy the brown ones and when I actually tried on both pairs and walked around a bit my heels were totally slipping out of the shoes. How annoying. So....I ended up buying the exact same shoes you did - the new dark brown slingbacks. Very cute and seriously affordable at just $49. Thanks for the tip. I am so glad I carefully tried those babies on before buying. |
