 I bought this dress for a girlfriend's wedding in late September and I love it. It is 93% silk and 7% spandex so it has this really nice drape with just a bit of stretch. Love the scoop/ballet neckline, the fun sleeves and the length. Ooh la la.
I've paired it with some peep toe platforms, but you could definitely do something a bit more strappy and flashy if you wanted to dress things up a bit more. Add some great earrings as well and you're good to looking oh so fabulous.
Here are the details for today's outfit.....
-Silk t-shirt dress from Banana Republic. Unfortunately this is no longer available in black but I think that Beaujolais color would be really great for the holidays.
-Marc Fisher Penelope slingback pump in black from Macy's.

I think you really hit the nail on the head here. It is simple, yet elegant and festive and can go well in quite a variety of occasions. I always liked satin and silk items as they add so much elegance and sexiness to almost any style.
And just in case no one told you this while you had it on, you sure look great in this!!!
In fact so good that Im going to get myself the exact same dress and shoes.
