Long gloves are very in for fall

Ok, so long gloves are in for fall.  But where the heck do you wear them?  I mean other than the obvious, like under a coat in winter or maybe with a pretty dress on a very fancy occasion.  But do women really throw them on with a short sleeve sweater on their way to work like this picture from Banana Republic would have us believe?  I can't imagine it.  However, maybe you can.

The newest line from Ann Taylor - Ann Taylor Collection

Ann Taylor just announced the arrival of Ann Taylor Collection, their newest line of luxury apparel and accessories.  You can shop the entire line online and at select Ann Taylor stores nationwide.  As you might expect, AT Collection is full of lovely, work appropriate attire & accessories with increased prices to boot.  Does the increase in style and quality warrant the noticeably higher pricey?  I can't say for sure.  I haven't seen it up close and personal yet.  But I'm all for options and now we've got one more.

For a bit more casual look try a belted cardigan and pretty top

Searching for a bit more casual yet still put together look for fall?  Pair a belted cardigan with a printed top, slim pants and platform pumps.  It's the perfect way to continue wearing all those pretty summer tops and still keep you cozy this fall.  Check out some great examples of this oh so stylish look in the October issue of Lucky magazine.  Don't consider platform pumps casual?  No worries.  Opt for a pair of super cute ballet flats instead.

Did you catch the Emmy Awards? Ooh la la....

It was on Fox.  It was in the round and Ryan Seacrest hosted.  Lots of changes this year for the Emmy Awards.  Can't say Mr. Seacrest was my favorite of all-time, but the dresses were close.  I loved Katherine Heigl's totally glammed up look with pinned up hair and red lips.  But I also liked the "less is more" look of Eva Longoria.  The dress was fabulous as were the long, loose curls.  For even more pics and results check out people.com.

The newest trend in outerwear is a rockin' leather jacket

If you've always been a fan of a great looking leather jacket you're in luck.  They are popping up everywhere for fall.  Bring out your inner rocker chick and pair a super stylish motocross jacket, a cropped number or a leather trenchlet with your favorite dress for a look that's a little bit unexpected.  Or pair with trousers and a frilly top for a look that's a little more work appropriate.  And of course you can always throw on a rockin' leather jacket with your jeans for a classic yet oh so fun look for fall.

My favorite way to wear a tunic top - just belt it

I'm not a huge fan of the empire waist, baby doll tops that seem to be everywhere these days.  Call me crazy.  Maybe it has something to do with already having had 2 children.  And I can't say the fuller, tunic style tops worn by themselves are my favorite either.  However, the whole belted tunic look is another story entirely.  Belts are huge this season and paired with a longer tunic style top it is a great alternative to the flowy look.  Wear with a pair of skinny jeans and you're good to go looking oh so fabulous.  Check out some super cool examples of the belted tunic look at people.com.

It's a great time for a new handbag

That's right ladies.  Fall is here and it's the perfect time to ditch that summer tote and purchase a fabulous new handbag for fall.  A rockin' handbag can take a ho hum outfit and make it pop.  A brand name one can make you the envy of all your friends.  But high end, middle of the road, or low end, a great looking handbag is a must have in my book.  Get one today.

Vera Wang for Kohl's debuts September 9th

Ok...this may be one line that will get me into Kohl's.  While I'm not a huge fan, the arrival of Simply Vera from Vera Wang has definitely sparked my curiosity.  And while I haven't seen the entire line in person yet, what I have seen online and in mags certainly looks appealing.  Very tasteful yet trendy styles.  So....if you're interested head over to your local Kohl's to check out the big debut.  The official launch isn't until September 9th, but according to some local Kohl's managers the clothes could start appearing as early as Tuesday, if not sooner.  My advice, call your local Kohl's for details before heading out.
